Overview

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.

This unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Entry Requirements

ACOS requires that all students:

Are over the age of 18
Have access to internet, webcam, email and MS Word
Have language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and follow CPR procedures, interpret emergency cues, and give clear verbal directions during resuscitation.
Have a reasonable level of fitness in order to complete manual and physically demanding tasks, such as bending, lifting and standing for long periods of time.
