Overview

This unit describes the skills and knowledg required toprovide a first aid response to a casuality in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australin national peak clinical bodies.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.

Entry Requirements

ACOS requries that all students:

  • Are over the age of 18
  • Have access to internet, webcam, email and MS Word
  • Have language, literacy and numeracy skills to read and follow first aid procedures, understand emergency instructions, and communicate clearly when providing first aid and reporting incidents.
  • Have a reasonable level of fitness in order to complete manul and physically demanding tasks, such as bending, lifting an standing for long periods of time.
